A young Magherafelt woman found with pregabalin tablets was jailed for two months at the local Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Louise Craig, from Sandymount, admitted a charge of possessing the drug on June 15.

The court heard police had gone to her address in relation to a breach of court bail and arrested her.

Prosecuting counsel said during a search the tablets were local on her person.

Defence counsel said Craig has been in custody since her arrest. He explained she had been sentenced at Antrim Court for another matter and has a release date of August 22. He pleaded with the court not to impose a sentence which would interfere with this date.
