Drew McCoubrey, his wife Betty and daughter Ashley took part in a thrilling ‘sky jump’ in Las Vegas to raise funds for Northern Ireland Hospice.

The memorable holiday was originally planned to celebrate Ashley having gained a 2:1 degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Ulster.

“When planning our trip Ashley asked me if I’d jump off the Stratosphere Tower with her - for those that are not aware the Stratosphere Tower is 855 foot high and is the tallest observation tower in the United States, so the request was somewhat tongue in cheek as she knows I’m not great with heights,” Drew explained.

With Betty also agreeing to the jump, the family picked what would normally be the formidable date of Friday June 13 to complete the sponsored feat.

“We chose the NI Hospice because it’s local and because we have had close friends who have had to use this fantastic charity in the past so this is our way of saying thanks for your help,” Drew added.

“We have raised over £700 so hopefully the Hospice will be able to make good use of it.”
