Debbie Kerr is a Team Leader for the collection and is looking for six volunteers to help collect money at the Big Collection weekend on June 13, 14 and 15.

The weekend is organised as part of a major National Charity Partnership between Diabetes UK and Tesco. The partnership aims to make life better for those with the condition or at high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Debbie said: “I signed up as a Team Leader for the Big Collection weekend because I am a very proud mummy to a little girl with Type 1 diabetes!

“Zoe is 10-years-old and was diagnosed just after her 6th birthday. I have personally seen how much a charity can help and I want to do what I can to give back to Diabetes UK. Last year we raised over £1,000 which was fantastic! Loose change really can all add up! There may be a few surprises at the Ballymena store so pop along as you wouldn’t want to miss it!”,

Volunteers can collect for however long suits them, from one hour to a full day from June 13-15.
