A fire that engulfed eight derelict caravans in Ballyronan last Wednesday is thought to have been “deliberate”.

Two crews from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service were sent to deal with the blaze on Ballyneil Road, at 10.20pm on June 1.

A spokesman said: “Firefighters using a jet dealt with eight derelict caravans on fire. NIFRS finished at the scene at 11.35pm, the fire is being treated as deliberate.”
