Country comes to Cookstown in style next Thursday night 15th November at the Greenvale Hotel when young heartthrob Derek Ryan launches his new album ‘Dreamers and Believers’.
This is Derek’s third album, which sees him retain his position as one of the most popular new breed of Irish Country artists that are reviving the jive.
‘Dreamers and Believers’, is a fifteen track CD, a third of which are self-penned. It is an album that has drawn inspiration from the hundreds of music lovers who fail to be deterred by the economic gloom that prevails throughout the country.
“This is the album I have always wanted to record. It is an uplifting collection of some of my favourite songs which I believe reflects the mood of my fans that come to my dances and concerts. They always come in with a smile and at the end of the night I hope they leave feeling better despite the negativity that exists.” said Ryan.
At 17, Derek was catapulted into the international pop music arena leading D-Side with achievements including several Meteor Awards nominations, a multi-platinum selling single ‘Real World’ in Ireland, adding to his 3 top 10 hits in the UK. Live T.V appearances included Top of the Pops, along with a sell out theatre tour and a number one single in Japan in 2005.
Derek’s love and passion for country are best measured in his song writing ability with five tracks on the new album his own compositions. Joining Derek at the launch will be the new country singer Johnny Brady and Voice of Ireland finalist Jim Devine with Paul Martin from U105 kicking off the night with his country disco.
Doors open at 8.30 p.m. and Derek will be signing copies of the new cd fresh off the presses after the show. On Saturday next Derek will be performing live and signing copies of his new album at Stewart’s Music Shop, Dungannon
