Driver arrested after collision on Glenshane pass left two needing hospital treatment

The driver of one of the cars involved in a two-vehicle RTC on the Glenshane Road last night (Sunday), was arrested by police on suspicion of a number of offences.

The incident, which closed the road for some time, was reported shortly after 9.35pm with police tweeting about diversions just after 10pm.

A police spokesperson said both drivers were taken to hospital for treatment following the crash between Tierbracken Road and Tamnaherin Road.

“One of the drivers was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences. He was later released on street bail,” they added.

“Sergeant Joe George would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact Police at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101.”
