Elaine rocks at karaoke finals!

A BROUGHSHANE woman hit all the right notes to reach the final of a prestigious karaoke competition at a Belfast nightspot recently.

Elaine Rock recently sung her way through a heat and into the final of the Tennent’s Rockaoke competition at Ten Square, Belfast.

Elaine secured one of only six coveted final spots, where she sang ‘Stand By Me’, originally by Ben E. King.

The Belfast boutique hotel and bar has been showcasing the best of home grown talent to packed houses in recent weeks with its high profile version of Open Mic Nights.

Six singers made it through the heat stages to the Grand Final, hosted by DJ Pete Snodden, and supported on stage by the resident live band, The Breakfast Club.

Up for grabs was a top prize package of a 5 star weekend in Dublin, complete with first class rail travel and 02 tickets.

Michael Ward from Castlewellan ended up topped the popularity charts on the night at Ten Square, winning the Tennent’s Rockaoke final with his personal rendition of ‘Galway Girl’ by Steve Earle.

Second place on the night went to Conor McManus from West Belfast, who sang “Summer of ‘69” by Bryan Adams. Andrea Brown from Dundonald sang ‘Valerie’ by Amy Winehouse to take third place.
