An elderly couple is appealing for anyone who may have seen their ‘cat-napped’ feline in the Mawilliam Road area of Moneymore to get in touch.

Robert McKeown believes his cat was kidnapped and dropped off in that area as the result of a dispute last Thursday.

“He went out last Thursday and never came back,” he said. “He would have gone for a couple of days, but when he didn’t come back on Sunday I made a few enquiries.

“I think he has been lifted. I have a good idea who took him, but I have no proof.”

Upset about their missing 4-year-old tabby - Ginger - Robert said they are offering a reward for his return.

Ginger, whom he has described as “a big ginger cat” who was recently neutered, but Robert said he wasn’t wearing a collar when he went missing.

“We are very annoyed about this,” he added.

If you can help to re-unite Robert with his cat, please call 07522 060672.
