Free local courses to jumpstart careers

The Northern Regional College and LEDCOM have teamed up to help “Jump Start Your Career!”

If you are over 16 years of age and need help with improving your English and maths to find a job, or to get on a course, then the Learner Access and Engagement Programme is for you. There is a wide range of short courses to choose from, including Essential Skills in Maths, English and ICT, Counselling Skills, Paediatric First Aid and more.

Courses are free or at a reduced rate of £5, which includes the examination fee.

To qualify for these courses you must be unemployed, living in Larne, Carrickfergus or Newtownabbey and have no more than one GCSE at grade C or above.
