Gale force winds set to lash Mid-Ulster over weekend

THE Mid-Ulster area will be lashed by gale force winds over the weekend, the Met Office has warned.

They have issued a ‘yellow warning’, with widespread gales forecast for Saturday, with gusts of 60 to 70mph.

Heavy rain is also likely as a low pressure system works its way across the Province.The warning is in place until 9pm on Saturday.

Northern Ireland Electricity has warned of possible damage to the electricity network.

NIE has emergency crews, engineers and call handlers on standby.
