Garden Society ‘thank-you’

The craft skills of Carrickfergus people are being put to good use in support of the Antrim Hospital Neonatal Unit Appeal.

Carrickfergus Garden Society is extending thanks to everyone who responded to the appeal by sewing or knitting baby items, or donating cash, wool or materials.

On Thursday, clinical sister Elizabeth Osborne was delighted to accept 101 hats, 83 cardigans, six blankets, 50 mattress quilts, nine laundry bags, one incubator cover and six pairs of bootees.

A statement from Carrickfergus Garden Society continued: “This is an on-going appeal; if you do not have the skills or time to donate completed items, you may like to consider donating material or wool.
