Organised by the Elderly Accommodation Council, the awards attracted over 400 nominations.

Next month, the finalists will find out if they are bronze, silver or gold winners.

Denise Carson, the officer in charge of Brookhill House told The Times: "Both residents and staff are delighted that we have been short listed.

"This demonstrates the high level of accommodation, support and care that we provide at Brookhill House.

"It is especially pleasing as the nomination was made by our residents and they are the people who matter most."

A delegation of residents and staff will go along to the ceremony at Ascot racecourse in February.

Brookhill House is a purpose built facility accommodating 25 residents with support and low level care needs.

Each resident has their own private room with en-suite facilities, which they are encouraged to personalise to make their home.
