Handyman service is now extended

CARNANY Community Association and Castle Community Association, Ballymoney are delighted to announce the extension of the popular 'Handyman' pilot project for one further year in the Carnany, Seymour Drive/Castle Street and Westgate areas of Ballymoney.

The Groups were successful in obtaining over 15,000 funding for the project through the Department for Social Development's Small Pockets of Deprivation Programme (S.P.O.D.) administered by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and supported by Supporting Communities N.I.

Lizzie Kelly, Chair of Carnany Community Association wants to encourage all local residents to make use of this - feedback received from residents who have had help from the Handyman has been largely positive. Mairead Myles Davey, District Manager, Ballymoney Housing Executive, has also welcomed extension of the scheme, describing it as a useful practical service for both the Castle and Carnany communities, also serving to strengthen links between the two areas.
