Horrific weather has caused the cancellation of the much-anticipated Christmas market in Magherafelt.

In a statement, the Mid Ulster Council said: “Unfortunately the third day of the Magherafelt Christmas Market - Sunday 29 November - has been cancelled as a result of the severe weather conditions.

“Our apologies to anyone who was looking forward to the event today.”

According to the Met Office, snow is in the forecast at the beginning of the week.
