Huge response to Cookstown hit and run victim’s ordeal

Micheál McKenna, sustained serious injuries following the incident which took place in the early hours of Sunday 2nd February.

Good Samartian, Rebecca Wilson (23) was driving past the area at the time when she noticed Micheál lying on the ground.

Police did not initially report this as a ‘hit and run’ or make any direct appeal for the motorist to come forward and it is understood that no arrests have made in relation to the collision.

The story has attracted a huge response with almost 10,000 reading the story on the Mid Ulster Mail website.

On the Mid Ulster Facebook page, people have wished Micheál well, while praising the swift actions of Rebecca Wilson.
