Detectives in Magherafelt are investigating reports of a burglary and an attempted burglary at houses in the Parkmore Crescent and Coolshinney Heights areas on the evening of Saturday 10th January.
Detective Constable Claire McGarvey said: “Damage was discovered to the back door of the house at Parkmore Crescent and reported to police at around 9pm. No entry was gained to the house but damage to the door would suggest an attempt has been made to remove the door panel.
“At around 10pm that evening, entry was gained to a house in Coolshinney Heights by forcing the back door. Nothing was reported to have been taken however, as the intruder was disturbed by the occupant of the house and left.
“I am appealing for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Parkmore Crescent or Coolshinney Heights on the evening of Saturday 10th January to contact CID at Magherafelt on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
