Invite to Christianity Explored at Joymount venue

The seven week course begins on Thursday October 1 and will be held upstairs in Ownies Bistro from 8pm.

Ian Cahoon, one of the organisers, said: “The Christianity Explored course gives an opportunity to look at who Jesus is, why he came and what it means to follow him.

“It is for those who want to know more about Christianity or just brush up on the basics.

“If you’ve been thinking about faith, God or church recently, then this is very much for you.

“We made the decision to host this in Ownies so that you don’t have to be intimidated about stepping into a Church environment. If you have a friend who you think would like to come, why not invite them and commit to coming along with them, even if you’ve been a member of church for a long time.”

Participants will not be required to know anything about the Bible, Ian said. “You won’t be asked to read aloud, pray or sing. You can also ask any question you want to,” he added.

“For catering purposes we are asking people to let us know if they intend to come along. If you’re interested, come to the first week and see how you enjoy it. If you prefer not to come back you won’t be pestered by us.”

The course, including supper each week, is entirely free of charge. It is based around a short DVD presentation, with participants placed into small discussion groups for the duration of the course.
