Irish Guards ‘Mini Micks’ honour for Cullybackey Cadet
It was far from a dog’s life for Cullybackey teenager Brandon Lynn as he swept to victory in the 2013 Irish Guards Military Skills competition.
The annual challenge, affectionately known as the ‘Mini Micks’, tests Cadets in a variety of skills including First Aid, drill, map reading, leadership, fitness, turnout, military knowledge and regimental history.
The gruelling weekend at Magilligan Training Camp is one of the toughest and most memorable highlights of the Cadet year with the honours going to the teams and individuals who best measure up to the Irish Guards’ famously high standards.
Demonstrating those qualities – and more - was Cadet Lance Corporal Brandon Lynn who clinched the coveted award for Best Cadet.
