James Simpson thanks all the electors who voted for him
Speaking at the conclusion of the local election count in Coleraine NI Conservative candidate James Simpson said that he wished to thank all the electors who voted for him.
He explained: “Despite not being elected the NI Conservatives aim of having a pro-Union centre right party, that is distinctly Northern Irish, but a full part of the U.K. Conservative Party contesting elections in Northern Ireland is an ideal worth striving for.
“As part of the U.K. it is highly desirable that Northern Ireland plays a full part in the politics at U.K. national level and not be simply restricted to politics at a local level. Contesting the local elections was very much a pioneering effort by the NI Conservatives.”
