Larne WI ladies celebrate in style
The evening began with a tour of the Mayor’s Parlour where the visitors book was signed.
President Mrs Eilish Gorman welcomed the Mayor, area representative, guests, and members to the annual dinner.

Hide AdMembers provided a delightful display of art and craft work, including recent trophies won by June Stirling, Elaine Kirkpatrick, and Nora Evans.
One of the members, Mrs. Pat Gawn, recited a poem written in 1956, by a former member Miss Elizabeth Hoseason Donaghy.
A delightful meal was supplied by Marty McToal and his staff.
After dinner, the ladies were entertained by the Johnston family. This group of five young people ranging in age from 10 years to 19 had feet tapping and had all members joining in. The ladies agreed that this “truly talented family were an absolute delight” and added a very special touch to the evening.

Hide AdThe Mayor, Councillor Gerardine Mulvenna was the chief guest and she spoke of her delight in seeing the work of the local WI. The ladies were delighted that she took time out of her busy schedule to spend the evening with them.
The competition was based on the theme of ‘Old Larne’, and the winners were: 1. Ima Kohne, 2. Isobel Clark, 3. Sheila Graham.
