The new line from family-owned Tempted Cider Ltd offers bottled cider in sweet, medium, dry and strawberry varieties, which will be available shortly from larger stores.

Davy Uprichard, founder of Tempted Cider Ltd, said: “We’re delighted to see our range stocked in Tesco stores just in time for Brewing and Distilling month.

“We use the best of local Armagh apples in our products and we’re among good company with the raft of other local drinks on the shelves – there’ll be something for everyone.”

Sean Largey, Tesco Northern Ireland’s new commercial manager, said: “The local drinks scene is so hot right now, with a heightened consumer demand for local craft beers and ciders, seeing existing suppliers develop new lines and ranges to keep their offering fresh.

“What’s even more promising though about the interest and support for local drinks products is seeing new, artisan brewers coming to the forefront of the industry.

“For Tempted Irish Cider, for example, the listing with Tesco will allow this small family business to invest back into their business and increase staff numbers and production facilities.

“Having this impact on small business success and seeing the lines sell in store is a really rewarding part of the job – and all part of Tesco Northern Ireland’s commitment to supporting local.”
