The swimming pool at Greenvale Leisure Centre in Magherafelt has had to close because a child had a toileting ‘accident’.
A message on the centre’s Facebook page alerted users to the situation, which has prompted the closure of a section of the pool for a time today.
Centre Manager, Chris Busby, told the MAIL: “Unfortunately this does happen from time to time. The guidance we have is that we close that section of the pool for a certain length of time, in this case 12 hours. This will allow four filtration cycles to take place.”
The online post informs anyone with swimming lessons booked about the procedure: “Unfortunately a child has had ‘an accident’ within our teaching pool this morning, meaning that our teaching and leisure pool will be CLOSED FOR THE REMAINDER OF TODAY (the main pool runs off a completely separate system and will not be affected).
“This means that ALL SEALS AND OCTOPUS (1 & 2) swimming lessons ARE CANCELLED THIS AFTERNOON. We will run an additonal session on Wednesday 30th March to replace todays lost session. We are currently calling all customers within lessons to inform them.
“All other classes will go ahead as normal in the main pool. If you have a 1-1 lesson scheduled, we will contact you if your lessons has been impacted (if not please come ahead as normal and your lesson will take place in the main pool). We sincerley apologise for the inconvienience caused.”
