Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy announced the start of a £95,000 major road improvement scheme on the A31 Church Street, Magherafelt.
Resurfacing work is due to commence on Sunday 29 September between Broad Street and Station Road between the hours of 7:00 pm and 6:00 am to Thursday 3 October.
The road will be reopened to traffic in between the night time closures. A diversion route can be used via the B42 Tobermore Road and the A6 Glenshane Road
The Minister said: “This scheme will involve improving the road surface and will increase the life expectancy of this busy trunk road. The scheme is expected to be completed on 3 October.”
To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public the work is programmed to be completed using a combination of a weekend and night time closures
The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change.
Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
