A MAN is expected to appear in court on Monday charged with attempted murder arising out of stabbings in Cookstown in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A 20-year-old man received a stab wound to his head. An hour later, a man in his 20s suffered multiple stab wounds to his body.
Police, who have issued an appeal for information, believe the stabbings are linked.
The man has also been charged with grievous bodily harm. He is due to appear at Enniskillen Magistrates Court tomorrow. Seven other men arrested over the incidents have been released on bail.
They were being questioned about a number of offences, including attempted murder, aggravated burglary and grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both injured men were taken to hospital, with one of them discharged a short time later.
The first attack happened in William Street and the second in the area of Milburn Street and the Moneymore Road.
