As part of her celebrations to mark 50 years in show business Margo will play Millennium Forum, Derry/Londonderry on Friday 21st March, with very special guest Frank McCaffrey and Pio McCann as host and compere.
This will be a truly memorable concert and will be filmed live. Margo is unique in that she has comfortably crossed the lines between the genres of country, folk, ballad and rebel material throughout her career. As recently as Monday 3rd March 2014, at the Farmers Journal Awards Show in Athlone she had a tumultuous welcome, she wads presented with the Hall of Fame Award and was given 2 standing ovations for her performance on the night.
Over the years Margo has duetted with many internationally famous names including Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, George Jones and many others during her illustrious career. She has also collaborated and made great friends closer to home with many of Ireland’s favourite singers Philomena Begley, Big Tom, Larry Cunningham, Maura O’Connell to name but a few, and of course her younger brother Daniel O’Donnell.
Her new 50 track CD, ‘Margo 50 songs 50 years’ due for release Friday 7th March ‘14, is a snapshot of a long and successful career where Margo selects her favourite studio recordings especially for her many fans and friends. Margo sang live, unaccompanied, on air during an in depth interview with Pio McCann, Highland Radio on Saturday 1st March ‘14, she is in very fine voice and a joy to listen to.
