Masked gang leavesman in hospital bybaseball attack

The incicent occurred in Leafair Gardens.

Detective Inspector Craig said: “Shortly after 11pm, it is reported that a number of masked males forced their way into a house in the area and assaulted a 26 year old male inside with baseball bats.

“The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.”

The local police officer continued: “I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID in Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
