McClenaghan, 49, from Broad Street in Magherafelt, had claimed that he accidentally shot Mrs Millican while attempting to kill himself in front of her.

Yesterday, Judge Corinne Philpott told McClenaghan he would have to serve a life sentence. Judge Philpott said she would tell him exactly how long he would spend behind bars at a tariff hearing in September.
