McKay welcomes High Court decision on Dalriada

Speaking after a High Court judge ruled that the hospital must continue to admit new patients, the North Antrim MLA said; “I welcome this ruling from the High Court to admit new patients into Dalriada Hospital following the suspension of admissions.

“This has come about as a result of a united campaign from the local area to save the hospital.

“This interim relief measure from the High Court is to be welcomed while we wait for the result of the substantive case.

“However, the reality is this is not a decision for the judiciary; it is up to the health minister, Jim Wells, to listen to the voice of the local community, and now the courts and keep Dalriada Hospital open.

“We will continue to stand with the community to ensure this vital facility is saved.”
