Messiah to be staged by Abbey Singers

SECOND Ballyeaston Presbyterian Church will be the venue for a performance of Handel’s Messiah on Saturday, December 1.

The Abbey Singers, under new conductor John Harmar-Smith, will present the sacred oratorio, which was first performed in Dublin in 1742.

Guest organist is Noel Williamson and the choristers will also be joined by soloists Lynda Barrett (soprano), Jenny Bourke (alto), Jack Kinkaid (tenor) and Michael Brown (bass). Trumpet player is Sam Brodison.
