UKIP’s Stormont candidate for Mid Ulster Alan Day has dismissed the EU deal as nothing more than ‘window dressing’.

“This deal does not alter the undemocratic institutions of the EU, create an opposition or hold the unelected EU Commission to account,” said Mr Day.

“It does not address the two tier immigration system whereby our Commonwealth cousins from India & Australia have to apply and jump through hoops to migrate to the UK and 92 year old widows are deported to South Africa - yet others from within the EU are free to come to the UK with no checks or visas whatsoever.

“Nor does it address the issue of wage compression caused by the over supply of cheap labour.”
