MLA gets on his bike at Stormont
TREVOR Lunn has joined other local politicians for an MLA Bike Ride at Stormont in support of Bike Week 2012. This event was part of a fun-filled calendar of cycling activities which took place from June 16 to 24 across Northern Ireland.
The Bike Week initiative aims to highlight the numerous health, financial and environmental benefits associated with cycling. It is promoted by the Department for Regional Development’s TravelwiseNI, who have collaborated with local councils, employers, schools and cycling organisations to promote a wide variety of cycling events for public participation.
This year’s MLA Bike Ride saw more assembly members than ever get on their bikes to show support for the cycling initiative and encourage the public to incorporate more sustainable modes of transport into their daily lives.
