Ulster Unionist Assembly Member for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend, has congratulated Cookstown High School pupils of the GTracks App Team on their qualification for National Finals of the RTE Dragons’ Den competition, to be held in Dublin on Saturday 25 January.

Mrs Overend, who is the Ulster Unionist Spokesperson for Children and Young People, said, “I would like to offer my congratulations to the three year 10 pupils of the Cookstown High School GTracks App Team for qualifying for the National Final of the RTE Dragons’ Den competition. The team from Cookstown High School did so well last year, and I am sure that the GTracks team this year will continue the trend of technological success at the school.

“The App, which will be available in App stores soon, is a location awareness App, which offers route options and hazard warnings for cyclists who are using the trails at Davagh Forest, Cookstown.

As a keen cyclist, I am particularly excited about the prospect of downloading and using it. Indeed, Cookstown District Council have invested in the App for use around the trails, which demonstrates, not only the quality of the App itself, but the belief in the team behind it.”

Mrs Overend continued,“The Dragons’ Den competition will take place on Saturday 25 January, with the following televised round, should they progress, taking place around 4 weeks later. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the GTracks team on getting this far, and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the competition, and for a successful launch of their DavaghNav.”
