Money and jewellery taken during daylight robbery in Coagh

Police in Cookstown are investigating a burglary at a house in Coagh, after a sum of cash and jewellery were reported to have been stolen on Thursday [March 12].

Entry was gained to the Windsor Terrace house sometime between 7.30am and 5.15pm through a rear window, before the house was rummaged through the items taken.

Detective Inspector Hazel Reid has appealed to anyone with any information about this incident or who saw any suspicious activity in the area to contact CID at Cookstown on 101. Information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Mid Ulster DUP MLA, Ian McCrea, has voiced his disgust at those responsible for the robbery.

He said: “I was disgusted to hear of a robbery that took place of a home in Windsor Terrace, Coagh.

“My thoughts are with the homeowners and in light of this it is extremely important that people in the area exercise vigilance and take extra care to ensure that their property is fully secured.”
