Moneymore childcare centre saved from closure

A Moneymore child care centre will stay open thanks to the efforts of one of its staff who has taken over the business.

Last week, the Mail reported that Kiddiwinkles Daycare centre in the town would close its doors at the end of the month. However, Bronagh Heaney has been able to bring together the finance to keep the centre open.

“I’m so excited to be bringing Tiny Steps Daycare to Moneymore,” said the new owner. “It is the first time that I will be at the head of such an endeavour, but I have been involved in the set up of another daycare centre.”

Bronagh, who hold a masters in Pastural Care and Education as well as a BA (Hons.) in Early Childhood Studies, paid tribute to Jill Hessin without whom she would not have been able to have the opportunity.

“I am completely focussed on making Tiny Steps the best it can possibly be. We will be up and running by September 1,” the Castledawson woman told the Mail.

“To me it is all about educating and developing children. I want Tiny Steps to be the first educators for the children alongside their parents and to help them to realise their childrens’ aspirations and dreams,” she said.
