New Chief Executive

The Chief Executive Designate for the new Lisburn City and Castlereagh District Council is believed to have been chosen.

Dr Theresa Donaldson, the current Chief Executive of Craigavon Borough Council, is widely tipped to have been offered the position.

Only last week the process of filling the post was thrown into confusion when Mr Roger Wilson, current CEO of Coleraine Borough Council was offered the position but declined after being offered the post of Chief Executive Officer of the new ABC (Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon) super council.

Dr Donaldson would bring with her a wealth of local government experience.

Upon commencement of the appointment, the Chief Executive Designate will work alongside the Shadow Council when elections take place this May before becoming Chief Executive of the new Council when it comes into being in April 2015.

In December 2010, Dr Donaldson was appointed Chief Executive of Craigavon Borough Council,
