New disability project is backed by councillor
Speaking after meeting the Association, Cllr. Anderson said: “As the mother of a special needs child I was delighted to hear about this exciting new scheme planned for the Ballymena south area.
“The plan is to contact primary schools to establish how many children could befit. They intend to work with kids with learning disabilities as well as those who are physically disabled.

This will not only provide respite for parents but will allow children to socialise and make new friends. Importantly, it will also provide people with an opportunity to volunteer to help out. Experience working at the youth club would not only be rewarding in and of itself but an excellent addition to any young person’s CV.”
An update on the programme will be given towards the end of July.
