The Bishop of Derry and Raphoe Rev Ken Good will conduct Tuesday evening’s service of institution for the new rector of Desertmartin and Termoneeny Churches, Rev Mike Dornan.

Rev Dornan is currently curate of St Malachy’s, Hillsborough and succeeds Rev Kenneth Kingston who has retired.

The service will be held in St Comgall’s, Desertmartin, at 8pm.

The new rector is a Belfast man who is married to Gill. The couple have two grown up children.

A former parishioner of Knock Parish, he attended Strathclyde University (1980-82) where he obtained a BA degree in Economics and Marketing after which he pursued a career in Financial Services for 24 years, working in Glasgow, London and more recently Belfast.

In the 1990s, while parishioners of St Peter’s in Yateley, Hampshire, Mike and Gill attended a ‘Strong Foundations’ discipleship course and hosted a house bible study group, where they experienced the first of many ‘God-incidents’.
