New trees planted at Lord Lurgan Park

Cllr Noel McGeown said: “We are grateful to the Neighbourhood Renewal Partnerships, the DSD and of course Craigavon Council for their combined efforts in successfully planting several hundred trees to date.

“This same project supplied the thousands of daffodil and crocus bulbs that brought so much pleasure to local residents and visitors alike when they came into bloom in the spring of this year.”

The councillor pointed out that the trees lining the pathways of the Lord Lurgan Park are flowering varieties.

“These trees will come into blossom next year just as the daffodils and crocuses begin to die of and will supply an added period of colour to the entire area. In addition to these flowering varieties the planting scheme has incorporated several larger specimen trees which as well as being unique to the park will add a little more feature to the area.”

He said the three Neighbourhood Renewal Partnerships in Craigavon had sponsored the tree planting as part of the Neighbourhood in Bloom Project.
