The deferral to give time for an office meeting with planners was sought by Cllr Declan O’Loan on behalf of the applicant, Galgorm Properties.

Their redevelopment application also involved the creation of two incurtilage car parking spaces and associated bin stores at 58-60 William Street.

Planners had issued it with a refusal on the grounds that it “would not create a quality residential development due to inappropriate layout” and that it would, if permitted “harm the setting...and would not be sensitive to the character of the area surrounding the site in terms of design, scale and use of materials”.
