“Interest in the new leisure centre has been phenomenal and we have had in excess of 7,000 people within 14 days of opening,” said Robert Byrne, Centre Manager for Greenvale Leisure Centre.
“The reactions from the local community, councillors and other stakeholders has been fantastic. They are astounded by the quality of the centre and incredible facilities available.”
Magherafelt District Council in partnership with Pulse (the appointed leisure management operator) was committed from the start of the Greenvale Leisure Centre project to provide an exclusive facility at an inclusive price to the community. More than 1,600 households equating to over 10,000 adults and children have taken advantage of the £365 per household pre-opening membership deal.
“£1 a day membership for the whole family is such a strong opening offer but the uptake even surpassed our expectations,” added Mr Byrne. “It’s great to see such a mix of families joining, some of whom never been to a leisure centre before and are pledging to improve their lifestyle together as a family.”
