One Goal Mission at Mourneview Park

The local domestic season may be over by May 11 but the gates of Mourneview Park will be wide open as the ground hosts a major Christian event with key note speakers Stuart Elliott, Roy Walker and host of other sports personalities.

Stuart, who has over 36 caps for Northern Ireland will be telling how God has used him during his career in football plus sharing the message of the gospel.

The ‘One Goal‘ mission will run from Friday, May 9, until Sunday, May 11, and promises to be an exciting event for sports fans across Northern Ireland.

The event has the support of churches in the local Lurgan area.

Hubert Watson, chairperson of the Lurgan mission said “We are delighted to support the One Goal mission at Mourneview Park and we are keen to attract local people from the Lurgan area, especially those who are interested in sport but normally ‎wouldn’t attend church.”

Speakers include: Stuart Elliott, ex Northern Ireland international; Roy Walker ex Ballymena Utd, Glenavon and Crusaders Manager; Johnny Jameson, ex Northern Ireland and Glentoran; Aaron Stewart, Ballymena Utd.

Alfie Stewart, ex Portadown FC; Marvin Andrews, ex Glasgow Rangers; Stephen Baxter, Crusaders Manager; Howard Beverland, Coleraine FC.

The event will run from Friday to Sunday, May 9-11, with a major youth event on the Saturday. The missions starts at 7.30pm each night.
