Only 70 salt bins in Strabane

STRABANE has just 70 salt boxes - the fourth fewest amount in Northern Ireland - according to Roads Minister Conor Murphy.

There are just 70 salt bins in the Strabane District Council area. Only in Larne (48), Ballymoney (52) and Moyle (53) are there fewer grit boxes.

Londonderry and Limavady are better supplied with 220 and 174 salt bins respectively.

Down had the largest amount with 312 whilst Lisburn had 282.

The Roads Minister revealed the information in response to an Assembly Question.
