Time to treat us all as grown ups

But what concerns me most is the continuing manipulation we as citizens are subjected to.

It feels increasingly as if we’re living in an unreal world where every action is pre-planned and co-ordinated.

We used to suffer from what Mr McGuinness called ‘whataboutery’. Each side responded immediately to something said by the other.

But am I alone in thinking we have gone too far?

Surely there must be room for proper debate, discussion and disagreement without the fear we are going to slip back ot hte dark days of our past.

Please politicians, put the spin to one side and speak freely and honestly. You might be surprised to find we are able to cope without reaching for the smelling salts.
