In the final few days of the campaign Sandra Overend is urging Mid-Ulster Constituents to “come out in force and use their vote this Thursday and to place their ‘X’ beside the Ulster Unionist Party”.
“You should demand better of your Member of Parliament at Westminster,” she said.
“The current MP doesn’t represent me on the green benches at the House of Commons nor does he represent you at Westminster; he doesn’t even try to.
“After all that we’ve been through in Northern Ireland, this cannot be as good as it gets.
“I want to represent Mid-Ulster in the mother of all Parliaments, of a people who can be proud of our culture and background, no longer live in fear of intimidation and sectarianism, understand our differences and respect our neighbours. “
She continued: “Our politics never changes unless you make it happen. The Ulster Unionist Party wants us to move away from the current position, where the parties at the heart of our politics operate a big accountability, low trust regime. That’s to say, they demand you account for your every action, yet they offer you very little trust in return, and seldom account for their own activities.

“The 7th May represents an opportunity to stop voting out of fear; vote for hope, vote for hard work, vote for representation at Westminter, Vote for Sandra Overend and the Ulster Unionist Party.”
