Carrick Grammar pupil recognised for volunteering efforts
The all-Ireland youth initiative rewards post-primary students for their exemplary acts of volunteerism.
Sixth year student Rebecca Irvine volunteered with St John Ambulance cadets, putting into practice a wide range of life-saving first aid skills from primary survey to CPR to bandaging wounds.

Hide AdRebecca’s duties have also seen her travel to Ghana independently for two weeks, where she spent her mornings in Cape Coast Teaching Hospital in four different wards.
She also spent afternoons volunteering at an orphanage, teaching, playing and learning from the children from both the orphanage and the primary school nearby.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place on March 31 at Titanic Belfast.
