Carrickfergus Golf Club has been closed for a deep clean after a member tested positive with Covid-19.

The North Road club detailed the closure on its Facebook page today (Monday).

The post read: “Unfortunately we have to inform you that a member has tested positive for Covid-19.

“This came to light this morning. We have contacted all those who were in contact with the aforementioned member over the weekend.

“We have closed the whole clubhouse (including locker rooms and professional shop) for a deep clean which will be undertaken today allowing us to re-open tomorrow.

“We will keep you informed of any further developments.”
