The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Cllr Peter Johnston, is encouraging everyone to adapt their traditional festivities in light of the recent tightening of Covid-19 restrictions which prohibit social gatherings.

He said: “Halloween celebrations will be very different for all of this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have lots of fun at home with our family.

Council has planned a whole week of virtual events and I, like many, will be logging on to enjoy them.

“We all want to have a fun Halloween, but also a safe Halloween, so I would urge everyone to stick to the guidelines that are in place across Northern Ireland.”
