Duke of Edinburgh awards for army cadets

A number of local Army Cadets have reached Bronze level of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

It was a great weekend for B Company,1st (NI) Battalion Army Cadet Force who undertook a full programme of training with the help of the Irish Guards. great time was had at the cadet Christmas dinner, which included the presentation of Duke of Edinburgh Award certificates.

The cadets have worked hard over the last year completing all the sections of the Bronze Award. The cadets were assisted and encouraged by the B Company Duke of Edinburgh award Team 2Lt Roxborough and SSI Boyd.

Amongst those who received their awards were Coleraine Detachment Cadets Justin Morrison and Katie Dickson and Ballymoney Detachment Cadet Corporal Tyler Boyd.

Company Commander Major David Rutherford said: "This was a great achievement for our cadets and thankyou to all the in B Coy staff for their hard work in supporting the cadets".
