Plan to spruce-up Rainey Street

RAINEY Street in Magherafelt could next be in line for a major facelift.

The local District Council is hoping to secure funding to revitalise the street following on from the success of the project in nearby Queen Street.

Thirty-seven businesses availed of the £150,000 grant available to spruce-up their shop fronts along ‘the Pass’.

Now the council has agreed that a ‘project proposal’ should be prepared for Rainey Street and submitted to the Department of Social Development for consideration.
