A Draperstown councillor is calling on those living in the Glenviggan Road area to have their say on proposals for a communications base station in the area.
The government funded project aims to deal with current ‘not spots’ for mobile coverage.
Sinn Fein’s Sean McGuigan said: “It is important to remember that the proposed site is located within the Sperrin Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty... local views must be taken into account by planning officials.”
“The proposal is part of Mobile Infrastructure Project, a publicly funded initiative that seeks to remove ‘not spots’ in rural areas where mobile phone coverage is currently non-existent.
“We are told it will provide a one-off opportunity to address the disadvantages affecting communities without access to mobile coverage.”
